Trimming the Shrubbery
I forgot to mention in last night's post that I trim shrubbery like I trim hair. I have to cut more and more to get them even on both sides. Pretty soon, they look pathetic. That’s why I will never; ever again cut my hair or anyone else’s! I know my limitations. However, I discovered Saturday that I over-estimated my gardening skills as well, at least when it comes to grooming the bushes. My only consolation is that they will grow back… I think… I hope. Hubby says they look fine. He also said the flower beds look great without flowers. I’m trying not to totally dismiss his opinion, but I’m struggling with it…especially about the flowers.

I believe that Dad does think that the flower beds look good with no flowers- that's just the kind of guy he is.
Sounds like your perfectionism streak was alive and well in the garden. Poor bushes!
Glad to hear that you've put an end the Great American Escape Act routine performed by the visiting cast of Oscar and Olivia (by fixing the fence!) I'll miss those jogs down the greenbelt hollering their names and chasing them once they are spotted and bribing them to come back in from the neighbors' yard. Not to worry, I'm sure I'll still get to chase them down the street when they run out the front door that is inevitably left open by a well meaning, yet incredibly forgetful family member- I'm not mentioning any names though!!
Sounds like you have a seet and supportive husband. Plants grow back. don't worry.
Thank you. Yes, he's quite an encourager and I'm very blessed to have him as my spouse for 33 years! Yikes! Time flies!
